Miraculous events of Holy Prophet reflect the divine support given to messengers for the guidance of humanity. Allah sent messengers with the light of knowledge and guided them to spread the light of faith to those who did not possess it. The causes of these miracles were different according to the needs of that time. For example, some miracles were performed to confirm being a messenger to the non-believers. Others were performed to fulfill the immediate requirements of the Muslims. A few miraculous events of Holy Prophet occurred during interactions with non-living things. Miracle of the Quran:
Out of all the miraculous events of Holy Prophet, the Quran is the greatest miracle for which Allah chose Muhammad (PBUH). The Quran is the last word of Allah and contains many miraculous aspects. It prophesies future events, tells stories of past nations, and has a magnificent composition. Allah bestowed the Quran upon the people who were known for their eloquence, yet none could produce even a single verse like it.
1. Treatment of Sick people :
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) could treat the sick. Once, his cousin Ali (RA)’s eye was aching severely. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) spat on his eyes, placed his hand on them, and the pain instantly disappeared.
2. Splitting of the moon:
Non-believers demanded proof of his prophethood. In one of the miraculous events of Holy Prophet, he pointed toward the full moon (14th night), and by the will of Allah, it split into two visible halves. Despite witnessing this event, many still rejected him and claimed it was magic.
3. Journey of Muhammad to the heavens:
Before migrating to Medina, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) went on the miraculous journey of Mairaj, accompanied by angel Jibril on Buraq, a celestial ride. They reached Bait-ul-Muqadas and ascended to the heavens. He met other prophets, led them in prayer, and later, went alone to meet Allah, where he was gifted the five daily prayers.
4. Water springing from the hands of Prophet Muhammad :
During the Treaty of Hudabiya, the Muslims faced a severe water shortage. One of the astonishing miraculous events of Holy Prophet occurred when he placed his hand in a pot of water, and water began to spring from between his fingers. The entire Muslim army drank and performed ablution.
5. Crying of a tree:
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) used to deliver sermons while leaning against a tree. After a pulpit was built, he began using it instead. During his sermon, the tree started crying like a she-camel missing its baby. One of the heart-touching miraculous events of Holy Prophet, he hugged the tree and comforted it, and it stopped crying.
6. Conversation with Jinnat:
