Allah is our Creator and He created the human from the clay. He will also cause death for us at the specific moment. After death, all human beings will gather on the Day of Judgment and answer to Allah for their action in Dunia. He will question us about our good and evil actions. There is a reward for good doers and punishment for bad ones. If a Muslim is not following the right way, he can go back towards Allah at any time. Allah has opened the doors of forgiveness for us. If you are also one of those people who are not following religion in the best way, you can turn to Allah at any time. He will hear you and forgive your sins.
Supplication is one of the best ways to turn towards Allah. He never let go of his creature empty-handed. In the Holy Quran, He says:
"It is He who accepts repentance from His creatures and forgives their trespasses, for He knows what you do”. (Ash-Shura verse 25)
There are few types of people who are nearer to Almighty Allah due to their position or state. Therefore, He never rejects supplication of those people. These are the favorite people of Allah. Quran and Hadith explain the list of those preferred people at many places. For example, Abu Hurairah (May Allah please with Him) narrated about supplication in the following words:
Holy Muhammad (PBUH) said: “Three supplications are responded to the supplication of the oppressed, the supplication of the traveler, and the supplication of the parent against his child.” (Jami at Tirmidhi 3448)
This Hadith clearly explains three types of people whose Dua is always accepted. One of them is an oppressed one. The oppressed person is alone under the oppression of the oppressor. He is at the mercy of the powerful. Therefore, Allah listens to the supplication of oppressed one first and foremost. These words of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) explain about guides us not to ill-treat those who are weaker than us. The oppressed will make a Dua that can be deadly for you.
In most cases, we can expect Dua of revenge by the oppressed person. As it is evident from Hadith, no factor can stop the acceptance of supplication of oppressed one. A hadith of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) highlights the importance of Dua of oppressed in these words:
" Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The Prophet sent Mu'adh to Yemen and said, be afraid, from the curse of the oppressed as there is no screen between his invocation and Allah".
The subdued person is not alone in this world because Allah is supporting the repressed him. Indeed, the help of Allah is the best aid in the favor of him. The religion and state of the oppressed do not matter. Allah will accept his Dua even if he is a non-Muslim.
Islam is a religion of love and beauty. It never allows its followers to oppress any weak or powerless person. Islam provides complete guidelines about rights and your duties towards slaves. Holy Prophet (PBUH) preached the message of one God. He made Arabs free from the oppression of oppressors. Oppression is a sin and there is a punishment for this sin in this world and the world hereafter.
What can we expect that a subdued person will ask Allah for the oppressor? It can be revenge in most cases or Dua for guidance. If he prays for revenge, then Hadith is an alarm for you that you can’t escape from the retaliation. We can learn from this that never try to oppress a weak person.
Acceptance of Dua demands some other conditions as well. For example, after Dua of oppressed, he will be no more oppressed after Dua. If the father does not have a good attitude towards his children, his Dua will not be accepted. Performing evil actions while traveling will also lower the effect of your Dua. Despite all these factors, Allah accepts the supplication of a traveler, father, and oppressed.
Many Hadith highlights the importance of Dua of the children for their parents. Islam signifies father up to the extent that the will of a father is the will of Allah.
"When a man dies, his acts come to an end, but three, recurring charity, or knowledge (by which people) benefit, or a pious son, who prays for him (for the deceased)".
In the same way, Allah accepts Dua of a traveler because he is alone, away from his home, and deficient in the necessities of life. Therefore, Allah accepts his Dua soon. Islam considers travelers needy enough that they can receive Zakat as well. Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)used to ask for Dua to those companions who are starting a journey because Allah accepts Dua of the person who is traveling.
It is clear from Hadith that we should keep asking Allah in every condition. We never know when he accepts our words. May Allah have mercy upon you and me and accept our Duas that we keep asking in Sajdah.
